Charlie & I arrived on site Friday afternoon at 12.30...

VERY DISSAPOINTED :(

Some of the big bins on site are pretty full and the wind seems to have got hold of the contents ..

The site has large amounts or rubbish in a few areas blown by the wind :( and it looks like there is no one in charge to tidy it up

what a let down :(

got here friday evening about 5 other units here :) nice calm evening and Saturday is a beautiful sunny day and about 8 units here now ..

My only gripe is they have a few loo blocks but its always the end block down the end of the site that's open yet almost all the units here are at the top of the site !!!!

The Site:
Large site, open all year, all hard stands, some of them on a sloping front/back so need levellers.
Check in at the block on left just at the entrance barrier, or in the low season go to the swimming pool reception.
Toilets are in great shape, look to have been done up recently, large shower areas.
No access to the meeting room/social area during low season which is a pity, haven't seen the camper kitchen I think is in there too. The dishwashing area that is open all year is not too pleasant. Laundry room is available with washer/dryers, tokens at reception.
Wifi available across the site.
It's a council run site, part of the gym/swimming pool. Reduced price for access to the swimming pool if you are staying on the site, kids love it but check the timetable to see when access is available (sometimes closed to public for swimmimg lessons/events).
Lots of bins around with water taps every few stands, recycling area beside main block.
Though you can just rock up and get a pitch, they do request that you book in advance, even in low season (just leave name and reg number), it would be busy in Summer so best to ring to check availability anyway.

Paid €23 a night 2 Adults 3 Kids 1 dog & EHU on 1/11/19

The Area:
Wexford town is a few minutes walk away over the bridge, plenty of pubs doing good food (Crown Bar is our current favourite), shops etc. Cinema for the rainy days, the Irish National Heritage Park for the sunnier ones.
Curracloe beach is just a few minutes up the coast, great big car park, miles of beach and dunes.

I know this site had been reviewed before, but we stayed just a few weeks ago so thought we'd add our opinion.

There are 55 hard standing pitches in this County Council run campsite, situated beside the swimming pool and only a short distance from Wexford town. It is open all year round, check in during the winter months is at the pool reception area. As we stayed in low season - February - not all the facilities were open, but there was everything we needed - toilet / shower block, lots of convenient fresh water taps, all waste disposal and a washing up area.

The site is right by the coast and has lovely views. It only took us about 15 minutes to walk into Wexford which was great. We found the town very welcoming and exceptionally dog friendly and really pleasant for a wander around.

A couple of negative points though. Some of the pitches are quite close together, especially lengthwise, which could be an issue for some. The site is quite exposed too. When we visited there was a lot of litter against the fences; admittedly it was just after the 3 storms had barrelled through but a half hour clean up would have made all the difference! Overall, we felt that the fact that Ferrybank is not privately owned means that it lacks that loved and cared for feeling that many places have which is a shame.
