Stayed here in November for a night after reading lots of reviews from other Campervan owners and to say I was surprised was definitely an understatement. Fantastic site and a lovely atmosphere. The facilities are spotless. Plenty of spaces but the grass is a little soft at this time of year. I stayed on one of the hard stands so no issues. When I arrived I was the only van there on the hard stands with 2 vans over on the the other side but as the day wore on lots of vans arrived and it was full up by evening time. Lovely people and everyone is so friendly. I really enjoyed my time here that when I came home I booked again for the 27th with my daughter so can’t wait. Only 1 hr 40 mins from Enfield and good roads the whole way. €15 for the night with EHU which is a bargain. My only gripe is that all I can manage is a one night stay due to work commitments but I plan to make this a regular trip from now on.

Graiguenamanagh has plenty of shops and there is a SuperValu and Aldi in the town. Lovely walks beside the River Barrow and the sound of the weir at night was very soothing.

Good points. Great location. Campervan friendly locals and spotless facilities.

Bad points. NONE.

I thought I had posted on this thread then discovered I hadn’t.
Anyway we stayed here the weekend of 8-10th July, our friends in their camper van came down on the Saturday.
It’s a fantastic facility , we booked our spot online, there are a lot of what would appear to be the ‘popular’ spots, like by the river or under the trees, we were happy with ours between the river row and the building.
When we arrived we were met by a lady who showed us our spot and directed me to drive in rather than reverse it, it was because where the door is on my van and maintains everyone’s private space.
Theres a coffee and snacks van on the site, there a camping supply shop on site also. There are limited showers which you pay a token €2 but at least it’s not one of those timers.

Toilet facilities could be better, only 2 shared cubicles for the site that were accessed from outside behind the main building.

Great opportunity to meet up with other campers especially the musicians, we all got together on Saturday night about 12 or 13 musicians and we jammed , the other campers were able to join us in the building where we were playing, it was a BYOB, and we finished up sometime after 2 on Sunday morning.
On Saturday afternoon they had an open family day with entertainment and BBQ facilities.

Definitely a place we will visit again. Very good rate €15 per night incl EHU.
They have fresh water available and grey and black water facilities. There are bins for rubbish and recycling where they ask for a fixed contribution based on the size of your bag.

Having heard loads about this spot (official title Barrow Valley Activities Hub and Motorhome Aire)on the Camping Crew podcast, and Charlie and me we decided to make it our first stop on our 3 county trip last week/weekend.... and well we are so glad we visited, this place is fantastic, right in the heart of the town but you feel like you are miles away from anywhere. Booked a spot on the weir pitches, with EHU all for the grand total of €19.50! The view superb and the noise of the weir was so relaxing as we sat out in the evening chatting with the neighbours.

The site was spotless, well laid out and has everything you could need, fire pits, covered areas, picnic benches and lovely walks even just in the site itself, the welcome was friendly and informative. They are in the process of building new toilet blocks (possibly with showers, not sure though).

The walk to the village is minutes, if not seconds away with a large Supervalu,  friendly (and dog friendly) bars, and if you cross the bridge to Gahan's (which is technically in Carlow), they are even Cat Friendly it seems!

There was Cafes and restaurants, takeaways all with in a very short distance..

Just a brilliant place not too far from our base in Dublin, just sorry we only stayed the one night but will certainly be back over the summer and over the winter as we think it's open all year round..

Headed off with another happy memory made, our next stop was Ferrybank in Wexford :)
