Agree with previous poster that this site will be ideal for those with small children as both the pet farm and the freedom of the layout to the campsite are first class. However the facilities are a bit dated and can be untidy not necessarily dirty. Bins unemptied, sinks needing a clean and surely having the whellie bins/ recycling area placed right at the entry to reception does not create a good impression.Reception was very busy and understaffed when we arrived but we were dealt with courteously and shown to our pitch. Fresh bread and pizza are available from here but must be ordered. Hot water was also exceptionally good and available in all facilities.Flower beds were dotted throughout but were a little jaded. A separate all adult section might be an idea even though it was quiet at night, but their clients are mainly young families with tents which is great to see.

This is a great site. We stayed there for two nights but I was kind of kicking myself I hadnt booked another one.

In terms of Covid restrictions, the reception area requires a mask. All the facilities are open but there is a lot of hand sanitising going on. Before any of the group activities everyone gets a squirt! The social distancing is a little lax at tinmes but other than that it is pretty well set up.

The facilities are excellent. There are a couple of campers kitchens. There are a multiple toilet and shower blocks. There is a pool room and a TV lounge.

The pitches are a good size with plenty of room for our Van Go inflatable awning. There was good electric hook up and we were located beside a tap.

In terms of activities, there is pedal go-karting, mini golf, tractor rides, playground and a petting zoo. The petting zoo has goats, sheep, deer, ostriches, ducks, chicks, turkeys, cattle and quite a lot of other birds. They have feeding time for baby goats a few times a day. This was a big hit with the kids.

There is a small shop that sells basics, BBQ stuff, ice creams, sweets and also really amazing baked goods. They also make very nice pizza to order.

A note on the staff. They were mainly young lads (teens and twenties). They were all really well mannered and helpful.

If there is a down side it is that Nore Valley is very isolated. There isn't really a lot nearby. The nearest proper shop is a few km away.

However if you have kids this should definitely be on your list for a long weekend.

our final get away in the caravan for 2021, and we hit kilkenny again for the 2nd weekend in a row having stayed at treegrove last week. this week, a further 20 minutes past treegrove, down a narrow enough road we arrived at nore valley park. price for unit, EHU and 4 adults was €80. a 5 minute spin arrives you into the picture-esque village of Bennetsbridge, and another 15 minutes will get you into Kilkenny city.

met by Samuel at reception, the check in was safe and easy. fresh bread and scones were ordered for the morning, ( €2.90 for 4 scones and a brown loaf..... score!)  the site was quiet enough on the friday, and our pitch was on the top level, there are 3 levels of sorts. the pitch was relatively level, water adjacent and  6amp hook up, so care taken when loading the sockets.

it is a beautiful site, well maintained and comes with a 3km walk along the Nore in a loop. its a bit lumpy in spots so wear good footwear.
there are loads for the kids to get into, and indeed on the saturday we noticed plenty of day trippers, communion celebrations etc to attend the petting areas. there are pigs, sheep, goats, turkeys, chickens, phesants, peacocks and my personal favourites, Highland Cow's, or as the scots say "Hylan Coos!! also deer and ostriches were roaming around the fields.

now while the majority of the animals were in large open pens, i was a little put out by the condition of the pens for the pigs, phesants, owls and 1 or 2 others.... not good in my opinion.however, the animals appeared in great condition and we did see a lot of staff catering for them.

there are 2 facilities blocks, both with free showers. one facility beside the reception is old and small, the other large, bright modern and very well maintained.there is also campers kitchens, tv room and pool room, all open and available for use. a small shop with basics is also on site and an honesty box for hens and duck eggs, and very reasonably priced.

all in all a great way to end our busy 2021 season, the caravan heading into storage later this week.we have numerous photos and memories from all our outings this year and we will look back favourably on nore valley caravan park. stick it on the list!

if it cant be fixed with a hammer, its an electrical fault......

A great spot - we had a night there in August - loved it! Agree about the owls - loved hearing them for real and in the wild in the forest around Lourdes but all in all a great setup and we will be back!
