It’s taken me a while to figure out how to do reviews here but here goes.
We traveled to the Clifden Eco Beach Caravan & Caravan Park in September this year(2021).
I have to say it is absolutely fantastic and anyone that hasn’t been then you really must put it on your bucket list.
It was a long drive down from Enfield in Co.Meath but so worth it as after you drive through Galway city you are in the heart of Connemara and the scenery is absolutely stunning. Good roads all the way and when you get there Kris will sort you out and get you settled with a great welcome.
Showers and toilets are absolutely spotless and the shower costs a €1 for 5 mins. Bring plenty of €1 coins but Kris has loads of change if you need it.
The site itself is fantastic with loads of scenic views of the wild Atlantic. It’s very remote so if you’re planning on going bring plenty of supplies as if you’re not moving anywhere like me then it’s a good spin back to Clifden for supermarkets etc.
The beach is spotless and the water is crystal clear and very inviting for anyone interested in swimming. Great walks too.
So if it’s a nice relaxing break you want the the Eco Park is the place to go.
Good points: Scenic site. Spotless facilities and a friendly welcome from Kris.
Bad Points. Long drive(but so worth it). Facilities are a bit dated but again as I said they are spotless.
€54 for 2 nights with EHU. They are quite strict with their chemical waste etc.

Just back from our second three night stay here. We had all the weather - rain, wind and some sunshine so we experienced the campsite in all those contexts. When the sun is out it's hard to think of many other campsites in Ireland I would want to be at. When the rain comes in though there's really nothing to do but you're 10km from Clifden so that's an option. I hadn't noticed how ill equipped the campers kitchen is the last time as I guess we didn't need to use it, but it just contains a microwave and two sinks (plus some fridges). So we arrived in cold after a thorough soaking walking out to Omey Island to find we couldn't actually cook our lunch there. It's also freezing because the kitchen, toilets and campsite storage are all under the roof of the same barn and the wind was whipping through it. There's a table with 3 chairs, so one of our family of 4 had to stand. Seems they could easily make a better fist of that space. That aside, the site is just a lovely relaxing spot and they've now added a sauna overlooking the beach (€20 pp per hour) and plunging into the atlantic after working up a sweat is highly recommended! There's also a horsebox serving toasties and coffees (hours seem to vary depending on weather and how busy the site is).
