@ Tourer..

changed the tow vehicle, an issue with the X5 proving costly to sort, so traded it in. still have the caravan but may be listing it for sale later in the year. Our Son moved to Chicago for study so the plan is to visit there, that'll prob be the holiday for this year.... but you never know :-)
if it cant be fixed with a hammer, its an electrical fault......

Your not a million miles off my plan there Aaron….

And as I’m missing camping already I’ve booked the February bank holiday weekend into a yurt in willowbrook camp site to get our fix…

It's funny - we sold the camper a few years back. Decided we wanted to go back to fly/drive holidays. That lasted 2 years and we very quickly realised what the big attraction is about camping. The whole freedom thing to move about as you please just proved too much of an attraction that we are back at it again albeit this time with a caravan. Don't get me wrong - I still like my city breaks and the odd fly away break but in the main - the hooking up and follow the weather and the craic...just can't beat it.

Well, 2023 just went downhill for me.... was taking the caravan out of storage last month and underestimated the tail swing when turning into my yard, result,  a football size ding on the end panel. it gets worse.. as its an Abbey, and no longer been manufactured ( company bought over by swift many moons ago) the assessor wrote the caravan off as been uneconomically repairable.... so bye bye caravan. just as well I had insurance who have agreed a settlement. so on a brighter note my campervan fund has started!
