We spent 2 nights there last summer, a lovely spot. very clean and well kept. The facilites were excellent and there were Green bins and Brown bins + glass bottle disposal also. Took a spin into Boyle one of the days, there is a lovely market in the town and it had outdoor dining too!
There are lots of options for stop-over's up around that part of Ireland.
Another spot we visited was Lough Key Forest Park, and that was beautifull.
I happened to be up there yesterday for work and called in and was chatting with Louise, the Manager there, and she was telling me that they have 50 fully serviced pitches available this year, all nicely landscaped and secluded, as well as glamping and tenting spaces.

1st outing of 2021 and couldnt have asked for better. On arrival met the wonderful Cath who outlined the COVID regs to us and advised that all facilities would be open. we got there late and the site was full at this time. between 25-27 pitches, gravel, some with grass adjacent and others , like the one we were on, just gravel and wide enough to cater for a car along side the unit. there is ample space for parking around the facilities block. There was grass areas for tents, and the site was open for tenters. There are ample EHU, 16 amp I believe. the toilet and facility block was spotless and the showers were FREE!! a dog walk is also located at the bottom of the site.
the toilets were closed for an hour or so each day for a deep clean. rubbish is dealt with by way of re-cycling bins. there is an on site B&B, and breakfast is available if you dont fancy cooking. there is also an onsite shop for basic groceries and maybe a little something in the bottom of the drinks fridge
things to do... Boyle is a 20 min drive with a wonderful abbey and other historical buildings to view. Riverstown is a 15 min spin with the Sligo Folk Park. Carrick and all is brings is a 30 min drive.
this is an adult only site so if its peace and quiet your after this is a winner. John & Cath were wonderful hosts and extremely hard working. there were a lot of regulars on site and everyone seemed to know each other.
we paid €27/nite incl EHU for unit plus 2. please advise at the time of booking of youe a twin axle outfit to allow cath and john allocate an appropriate pitch.
the road leading to the site is a little on the narrow side so bear this in mind if youve a wide rig. Also remember to bring insect repellant, the site is beside a fishing lake and Midgees are a problem.
all in all a wonderful way to kick off the 2021 season and we are alkeady planning our return!
