Stayed in August 2021 for 1 night. Very easy booking system and site easy to find. Good washroom facilities although showers didn’t work in the morning until someone turned a switch on, but too late about 10am! About 8 hard stands but most have quite a slope. No one in charge on site at arrival so just chose our own site. No playground or facilities for children. Washing machine out of order when we were there and bins overflowing. Very well located in centre of village and with a lot of space the site has loads of potential. Think it’s operated by a community group.
However at €30 for unit and 2 adults plus €2 per shower ( didn’t work) it is too highly priced for what is on offer.

The website for this park is called Tir na hOiga and all year has said it’s closed for renovations. Does anyone know what’s happening with the site ? Will it open next year ?

Stayed there this weekend and I’m sorry to say I won’t be back. Still €30/night including EHU, but the focus seems to be on selling mobile homes and sites, the spaces for camper van, caravans, tents etc. are as previously described so nothing has been done to improve. The toilets and shower blocks are impeccable, however showers are €1 for 4 mins and €2 for 8 mins didn’t use them as I have my own in the van.
We were given an email with eir code to locate the place and the entrance code and toilets code. However no code for chemical toiled disposal ‘The honey Pot’, so this morning I was going round trying to get the code, eventually got it via email. They said there was grey water disposal, however, again not sure about this the guy Glen said to use the storm drains which were not suitably located, I ended up using one in the yard outside the entrance in front of the community centre.
With regards the village it’s quaint, however, only 1 of the pubs opens and despite it saying food served all day it hasn’t served food in 3 years. The only cooked food available was the local chipper and pizza. So all deep fried, not ideal.
Oh yea, pub only accepts cash, and chipper only accepts cash. There is an ATM outside the pub. Excellent beer - the black stuff in the pub the castle inn.
For those of you with dogs, a big downside in the village, no bins for disposal of the poop bags, and this includes down on the beach.
IMO this place is best suited to surfers.
