Had out 1st visit to Greenlands, a sister site of Strandhill, on the weekend of 21st June to attend the local Rosses Point Shanty Festival. Booking was made via the website, 2 nights with EHU for van + 2 was €60 ( If I remember correctly). we were guided to Pitch 20A and were treated to a fantistic vista over the nearby beach and the glorious Benbulben.
It is a well established site, we had no problem manoevering our 6.5mt motorhome around it. However, levelling Chocks are a must.
as is to be expected, the facilities were clean, if slightly dated, and showers were €1 for 6 minutes, adequate time.
The town of Rosses Point is a 5 minute ramble, another 5 minutes in the opposite direction lands you on a magnificent beach. It was also noteable that a large number of camper vans were wild camping, and not all areas had no overnight parking signs, although some areas had them ( and were ignored by campers) which gives us all a bad name.
there is a new section opened just facing the road with smooth level tarmacadam drives and pitches with its own services. A welcome addition as it is a very busy site, and id advise pre-booking if considering a trip to this site.
All in all I cant see why it took me so long to visit and we are sure to return again.
