This Caravan and Camping Club campsite is situated at the entrance to the Delamont Country Park. It is for touring units only, and comprises meticulously laid out gravel pitches separated by grass. The grass areas are for fire break, and are not to be used for chairs, awnings etc, a rule which is strictly enforced. In fact, there is a distinctly “rulesy“ feeling overall here, which maybe isn’t an atmosphere suited to everyone.
The facilities block is kept very clean (and there are free showers!). Each pitch has EHU, water and a grey waste drain.
The site is extremely popular with local tourists, in the 3 nights we were here we only spotted one other non NI registration apart from our own. Delamont Park is a fabulous place to walk, with lovely trails and great scenery over Strangford Lough. There is also a miniature railway and superb children’s play park.
