Carlingford Marina was created by Galldar
Carlingford Marina/Aire
Site:
It's on the Omeath side of Carlingford, if coming from Dublin go through Carlingford, under the tunnel by King Johns Castle and continue up until you see the sign for the marina which is on the right hand side. Go through the barrier, park on the left hand side (not in the main car park).
Grey/Black water services available.
Toilets open 24h (keycode), showers free.
Very nice Indian restaurant, and bar doing barfood (pizza etc) on site.
Pay at the Marina office if it's open, at the bar if it isn't. €10 a night. When paying, ask for a token so you don't have to pay €2 to get out through the barrier.
About a ten minute walk into Carlingford.
There's a cycleway/walkway that starts at the marina and goes as far as Omeath.

Area:
Great town, lots of history, lots of walk around the town and up into the hills.
There's the adventure centre for family/kids, zipwire park, kayaking etc ( carlingfordadventure.com/ )
Always a busy town, popular destination for hens/stags too.
Lots of coffee shops, bars doing good food, don't forget the Oyster Festival

Replied by Bill and Carol on topic Carlingford Marina Aire
This is a lovely spot for an impromptu overnight stay. As an aire, it can’t be pre booked, but we were assured that it was never full! The access from Omeath direction is a very sharp turn so be prepared for that. There are two parking areas, alongside the access road overlooking the marina or further along beside the bar / restaurant in a yard area. We chose the former as we got a space with a beautiful view across the lough. The yard area has fresh water, and grey and black water disposal areas. There are toilets and free showers.
Access to the recently opened Carlingford to Omeath greenway is adjacent to the Aire, so super convenient. It is suitable for walkers and cyclists alike, and is a lovely route running right alongside the water.
When we visited (August 2021) the restaurant was not open due to problems getting staff. There are, however, a good number of great eating options in nearby Carlingford.
