Adare Caravan and Camping Park was created by Tourer
I had planned to stay for a couple of nights at this park during 2025. I had never been before, but Adare as a village has always attracted me, and so far, I have always been passing through. So, as part of my 2025 planning, I got onto the website to check out the opening dates and noticed that for 2025, there is a new rule—no dogs or pets.
I wonder if something happened to bring in such a rule. It seems a little strange, as camping as an industry is growing, as is pet ownership.

Did you make a call and ask?
My Mrs Dee works with the owners son I'll ask her to ask him & I have emailed them regarding this.
On their web site there is a review stating " Nice walks around the farm & local countryside, good play area for children with open spaces for ball games & dog friendly site."

I sent an email and got a response within a few mins this is it...
"Hello ,this is a new rule for this year, thank you for the information we will take down all pictures of dogs."Regards Hugh.
I then asked via email
"That's a pity we were hoping to visit this season. Is there a reason for this new rule as so many of our followers travel with dogs... "Aaron
charlieandme.ie
awaiting reply....
got a reply again within a few mins...."A lot more people coming with dogs and most people are fine but I had too many instances of me having to pick up after unknown dogs and also having to educate some people about picking up, and a dog left in a caravan all day, also 2 dogs left tied up outside a tent all day and barked so much that I took them up to the back of my own house until the owners came back. I have many more stories on this issue.
I am now a cranky pensioner and could do without this I am looking forward to this season the only exception to this rule will be around the 3rd week in August where we host a large group of dog show people for the Munster circuit so that will be your only opportunity to visit us this year with a dog the ban will be lifted for everyone for that week."
Hugh.
I mailed back thanking Hugh for the quick responses & wished him a Happy New Year

It looks like a lovely site and, as I mentioned in my previous message, very convenient for visiting beautiful Adare. I sincerely hope that this ban doesn't adversely affect his business. God knows we need more sites and not less. However, I fully appreciate where Hugh is coming from. There are many irresponsible dog owners, so it would be rather foolish to think that the camping fraternity would be free from such. I hope that Hugh can find a solution to this problem and that those of us who take our dog ownership seriously can get back to enjoying his campsite again in the future.

Unfortunately not, Aaron, as it was during the Christmas holidays. I had just presumed that something happened to make such a rule.Did you make a call and ask?

Ugh, the few poor dog owners ruin it for the vast majority of other and good dog owners..
One of the main reasons we got a camper of our own was to take our pooch on adventures.
We have been to this site and it’s lovely as is Adare village, it’s such a shame for them to have to be forced into implementing this rule but I also get why…

As I ended up going on the Easter break without the dog, I contacted Hugh, explained I was now 'dogless' for Easter, and so, stayed for a night.
This is a beautiful, clean site. The pitches are mostly level, clean and tidy, and the water and drainage facilities are not too far away from any pitch. Hugh is an excellent host, and I got the rundown on the dog issue. I have to admit, if I were a site owner and faced the same problems that he did, then I'd introduce a ban as well. This is a very well-kept site. Hugh knows how to prepare land as the weather was a little inclement, but the ground underfoot was not in the least soggy. Many a football groundsman could learn a bit here...
The site is very conveniently located for a visit to Adare. This is picture postcard stuff, and the village is delightful. I honestly believe that the bypass will only add to the charm, as then the only people passing through will be those who want to be there and not all the heavy haulage that is forced through presently.
Would I go back? - Absolutely, in the blink of an eye, and I sincerely hope it won't be too long until I am pitched up in Adare again.
