Stayed here last weekend, really good site, spacious and well maintained, most if not all of the hardstands are under trees and while some people might find them overshaded they are well separated and offer a degree of privacy, some ehu points will require long cable length.
Nice little coffee shop in the main building, check opening times. Facilities are clean, hot water plentiful, camper kitchen, laundry.
Excellent children's play area including a full sized double decker bus with built in slide.Great efforts are made to connect the children with the woodland and enviornment that surrounds them in a fun way.
Staff and owners very helpful E26 per night van & two people with ehu, As it is part of a much larger Coillte forest park there are many walks and cycle-paths within the area.
By ringing ahead you get a code for an electric barrier which gives you access to the camping area.
Small crib, while the refuse collection area is very central and well thought out, by Sunday evening all available bins were full to overflowing including the bottle bins resulting in bottles, drink cans and food leftovers being loose on the concrete floor of the area - unsightly!
Stayed for 6 nights and while the weather wasn't kind, the spirits were not dampened at all. The bike trails all around the forest are excellent and we spent hours exploring them. The soft furnishings of the van were very welcoming in the evenings...!
Covid has it that none of the facilities are open which is a pity because Warren is trying very hard to make everything seem normal in these trying times. The double decker however was open so the kids had a ball playing down around the play area and the bus. There are loads of little things like the fairy trail which are just very well thought out and it all adds to the experience of camping in a forest.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this campsite to anybody - its a little gem.
