Gas Labelling was created by ChataeuDucatto97
Hey All,
Just wondering about the requirement to have Gas Bottle Labelling on the outside of your campervan/motorhome.
I see a lot of modern units with the red triangle on the outside of their gas lockers. Our unit is old, and the gas bottle is internal in a wooden box with straps and a holder, it’s passed many CVRT’s and the Insurance company insured it after seeing photos, so guess it’s ok the way it is (we practice safe gas use too, turning off and disconnecting the regulator and putting the cap back on when not in use)
There’s no labelling on the outside of the vehicle like I’ve seen on others and again it’s passed tests with no mention of it..
so just wondering should I put a label on the outside as best practice or just leave as is, not sure of the legal requirements
Any opinions?

On my previous camper which was a conversation the gas bottle was inside also with an access door from the outside that never worked because the previous owner lost the key, it did not have any gas hazard warnings, so really I’d say it’s up to yourselves as it’s obviously not required by law or else the insurer or the regulator for CVRT would be insisting.

My thinking on this subject is ...
no harm having a sticker somewhere on the outside of your van in case on an emergency, so emergency personal know there is gas on board !!!
just a thought
