Hey everyone, I’ll keep this question short (ish) I know a lot of us motorhomers, campervanners and caravanners bring our four legged friends away with us, and why not they are family! Our Daisy is a little spaniel terrier cross, so very active, nosey and nervous at the best of times given the breed.. but a very unsettled traveller.. loves the camping life when she arrives, but hates the journey. Does anyone have any tips or tricks on how to calm doggies down while on the road? We have tried sitting her in the back but no luck, up front in the cab she just won’t settle either, and yes the spaniel breed are nervous by nature but any advice would be welcomed!

We have only had 2 doge in our camping Purdy (rip) & now Charlie.
When its just me and Charlie in the HYMER he is a great traveller he sits up front with his seatbelt on and stick his nose tot he air vent and will stay like that till our pee breaks which we try stop every hour to 90mins.
HOWEVER he hates traveling in the VW T3 H A T E S it so much so that I cant even get him into the T3 on the drive when its parked.
I think there are a few reasons for this .....
1 the noise of the engine. (hence the T3 is going for a petrol engine this August)
2 he cant reach the vent while in the front (this I hope to rectify soon also)
I find to calm the dogs down its all about loving hugs rubs and tone in your voice & pee breaks as often as you can when it is safe to do so & treats when back in the van..

Thanks Aaron,
Definitely some wise words there, and my co-pilot Laura, certainly gives her all the hugs and rubs. Will try the fan idea, she loves wind in her ears (Laura not so much) but we have some little USB fans in the unit we could use when on Motorways etc and have more pit stops on our travels
Thanks again.

Funny we also have a T3 and a very nervous doggy but he will literally lie down in front of the van if he sees us packing it up lest he be forgotten!
