I'd like the small hedgerows separating all of the pitches as in France etc. each pitch to be fully serviced with good drainage so that it doesn't become a mud bath. Good service blocks and harping back to my days of owning a motorhome - I'd offer an area where motorhomes could be washed purely by supplying drainage and a water connection.

There is for and against the hedgerows...! It depends on the neighbours!
Sometimes it is lovely to get chatting to the people beside you and discover interests and also maybe find out about the nice pub or restaurant down the road.

I agree Comet so my hedgerows would only be 2-3 foot high. Enough to clearly mark out the pitch but not high enough to restrict connecting with your neighbours.

I only saw this now.... and have had this conversation with Mrs, of a summer's evening, over a glass (or a few ) of chilled white wine.
We spotted a field, central to a few touristy areas and attractions, close enough to motorways and Dublin, and not too may other campsites within 30km (although i wait to be proved wrong). We would start small and cheap during the summer, improving during the winter with funds from the summer. Franchise supermarket to the front allowing joe public to buy from it (saw a few in france like that), but no access to campsite except for campers. Mrs says box or griselinia hedgerows......
But it needs money to start with, to buy the field, which might not be available......
So we'll just enjoy the fantastic sites and services run by others....
