This is a small quirky site located in the village of Meenalek, Crolly. We were here for 2 nights 8th & 9th August. Cost for the 2 nights, EHU and an extra car was €66. Showers were free and spotless. We have a 6.5 meter rig so we were parked on the 1st level. There are several other levels but a big rig may have issues accessing the lower areas. It is very popular with people tenting.
It is an eco site so green or no chemicals to be used in your cassette. Fresh water was available, grey water was simply emptied into a storm shore on the side of the road directly outside the campsite entrance, and black water was to be emptied into one of the unisex loos. Not a fan of this method of disposal, seems a little unhygenic to me.
The village has 2 small bars , with Leos tavern, the home of Clannad, the best for music and grub. Beware, at this time of year Miggies are a huge issue, the owner of the site sells bug spray if required.
A good base for touring this area of Donegal, however, and its down to personal taste, this site was not for me and I was glad I was only booked in for the 2 nights. However, I can appreciate its charm and others I was talking to at the site sang its praises very highly.
