Beautiful campsite set in a stunning location: fantastic location and only a very short walk to Ballymastocker Strand. A warm welcome greets you when you arrive, and the check-in was fast, efficient and pleasant. The on-site shop is relatively small but contained all the essentials. I feel a small coffee shop would have added tremendously to the facilities, but it would be another overhead. However, I was advised by Michael the owner, to go to a small café in nearby Milford for breakfast the following morning and it didn’t disappoint. The facilities were spotlessly clean and that also included the toilets which were not just clean but also warm...! It is Ireland after all...! The owner is now retired but used to camp and you can see that in this campsite.  He sporadically walks around keeping an eye out that all is in order.  The grounds were immaculate, grass constantly being maintained. There is a new boardwalk/walkway down to the brilliant beach.  It is literally down the short boardwalk, cross the road and you are at, what is reputed to be, one of the most beautiful beaches in the world…… unfortunately you just can’t guarantee the weather. There is a charge for the showers, €2 for 6 minutes and a €10 deposit for the fob. There are several different ways to get there but as a local, I would strongly advise following the directions as per the website. Will I go back? – yes.
